The Medical Services Recruitment Board (MRB) under the Government of Tamil Nadu , established with the objective of making appointments of various categories of staff in the Health and Family Welfare Department invites Applications from Sincere and Talented Candidates for filling up of the 2159 vacancies of Assistant Surgeons posts. Eligibility Criteria for Tamil Nadu Medical Services Recruitment Board (MRB) :
Age Limit :
1. For SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BCs, and BCMs Candidates : Minimum age must be 18 yrs and no limit on upper age.
2. For Other Category Candidates : Minimum Age must be 18 yrs and max age must be 35 yrs.
Educational Qualification :
1. For Assistant Surgeon (General) : Candidates should have Obtained the degree of MBBS or equivalent degree.
2. For Assistant Surgeon (Speciality) : Candidates must possess Post Graduate Diploma /Post Graduate Degree in the concerned speciality.
3. For Assistant Surgeon - Dental (General & Speciality) : Candidates should have obtained the degree of Degree /post Graduate Degree in dental Surgery i.e BDS /MDS .
Application Fee :
1. SC/ST Candidates need to pay Rs. 350/-.
2. Others candidates need to pay Rs. 700/-.
Selection Process : Eligible Candidates will be selected on the basis of written Examination and then Selection of a candidate by the Board carries with it no guarantee of actual appointment.
How to Apply :
1. Candidates are first required to log on to the MRB's website www.mrb.tn.gov.in
2. Now, Candidates have to click on " On-line Registration " icon .
3. Select the name of the post or service for which they want to apply.
4. Now fill all the required details in the form and upload the scanned photograph and signature at the required place.
5. After filling all the details, now click on "Submit" button to submit the application form.

date of starting of online registration : 31-03-2013
Last date for submission of online application form : 21-04-2013
Last date for payment of fees : 23-04-2013
Date of Examination : 12-05-2013
