A legal adviser is a professional lawyer working for an organization to give advice to the organization with respect to legal matters. Both government and private organizations recruit legal advisors and they offer advice to the organization in creating policies and contracts.

The work of the assistant legal advisor is offer official assistance to the legal advisor of the organization. The pay scale for the position of assistant legal advisor in government organizations in India is Rs. 15600-39100+ grade pay of Rs. 6600. This is the new pay scale after sixth pay commission. Before sixth pay commission, pay scale for the position of legal advisor was Rs. 10000-325-15200.
Government organizations recruiting assistant legal advisors:
Assistant Legal Advisors are required in almost every organization irrespective of whether it is government or private. The list of Government organizations that recruited candidates for the position of Assistant Legal Advisor is given below:

Educational and other qualification requirements for the position of Legal Advisor:
Most of the government organizations require that candidates must have completed their Master’s degree in law from an approved university. Most of the government organizations require that candidates must have practiced law as advocate for some years in Supreme Court of India or in any of the High Courts. Some organizations also require that candidates must possess experience in dealing with legal matters in autonomous bodies, universities, public sector undertakings, state or central government organizations in supervisory capacity. Candidates must also be well-versed in civil laws, constitutional laws and administrative laws.
What is the mode of selection for the position of Assistant Legal Advisor in Government organizations?
Some organizations recruit candidates for this position on deputation basis, while some organizations recruit candidates on short-term contract basis for the position of assistant legal advisor. When candidates are selected on short-term contract basis, the period of contract will be one-year, but this contract period is extendable for not more than three years.
